HEALTH FREEDOM ALERT! I received an update from a subscriber regarding the EPA’s labeling of colloidal silver and other nano-silver products as a pesticide. It appears that the EPA has extended the deadline to submit comments from the public, so here is the link to a website that shows how to voice your concerns to the EPA: http://www.colloidalsilversecrets.blogspot.com/
Eli Lilly to Pay Billions for Zyprexa fraud
Eli Lilly & Co launched the anti-psychotic drug Zyprexa (olanzapine) in 1996 for treating "schizophrenia", "bipolar disorder" and "manic depression". Zyprexa is the fifth biggest selling drug in the world. It brings in 4 to 5 billion dollars each year and accounts for about one third of the company's profits. In 1998 internal documents leaked to the The Times revealed that Eli Lilly was aware of the risks of weight gain, hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) diabetes associated with Zyprexa.
The documents -- which include emails, marketing material, sales projections and scientific reports -- show instances where sales representatives were told to downplay the risks of unmanageable weight gain when talking to doctors for fear that the information would hurt sales. The documents show that the company rejected plans to educate psychiatrists in diabetes treatments in order to protect Zyprexa's reputation, and attempted to market the drug to less-informed primary care physicians, under the pretence of being a "safe, gentle psychotropic" for people with mild mental illnesses. The American Diabetes Association and other critics have said that Zyprexa has a better chance of causing diabetes than other schizophrenia drugs.
In addition to excessive weight gain that can lead to diabetes, the side effects of Zyprexa include heart failure, sudden death, suicidal thoughts, pneumonia, high blood sugar (hyperglycemia), increased thirst, loss of appetite, increased urination, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry skin, dry mouth and dizziness. It is easy to become dangerously overheated and dehydrated while taking Zyprexa, and it should not be given to adults with dementia-related conditions.
The side effects of Zyprexa incited an endless string of lawsuits against Eli Lilly by tens of thousands of injured patients and the list keeps growing. In 2005 Eli Lilly paid out $700 million for 8,000 claims.
In 2006 Natural health watchdog Mike Adams stated: "Now it seems that Eli Lilly had evidence all along that they refused to share with doctors." Adams says that he believed the FDA had been acting in conspiracy with Eli Lilly to withhold the damning information from the public and the medical community. "I also believe there is overwhelming evidence to support the existence of this conspiracy, and that it is a conspiracy designed to maximize drug company profits at the expense of public health. In a time when diabetes has become an epidemic among the American people, it is unconscionable--even criminal--to promote drugs that are clearly shown to cause diabetes and weight gain," said Adams.
In January 2007 Lilly agreed to pay up to $500 million to settle 18,000 lawsuits for diabetes and other diseases. Last September US District Judge Jack Weinstein allowed the plaintiffs to sue Lilly as a group and found there was "sufficient evidence of fraud" by Lilly. Last month Eli Lilly & Co agreed to spend more than $2.6 billion to settle criminal and civil claims over Zyprexa. However, the states are lining up for damages and fines for violation of laws against deceptive practices and false claims. Eli Lilly may end up having to pay 4 or 5 billion dollars in Zyprexa damages. Lilly also faces a class action brought by insurance companies, pension funds and labor unions claiming it overpriced Zyprexa by making excessive claims about the drug’s usefulness. The plaintiffs are seeking damages up to $6.8 billion.
In spite of the criminal charge and civil litigations, this dangerous and even lethal drug Zyprexa is still given to patients in open defiance to the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm. At the same time the FDA, FTC, EPA and other three-letter feds attack people who provide harmless health-related products and herbs that actually help people. This is not a coincidence. This is intentional. The medical establishment has admitted (in JAMA) that they kill over 100,000 people a year. However, health watchdogs have stated that that is a very low number and that the actual figure is closer to one million deaths per year from pharmaceuticals. After all, what doctor would want to admit that his or her "treatment" killed the patient? When a cancer patient (already ill) is given a poisonous chemotherapy drug and then dies, how do you think the death certificate will read? The people of this planet are not blind and they are waking up to the fact that pharmaceuticals kill and dibilitate--as evidenced by the published side effects of each drug. Unfortunately, it is the drug companies themselves that test their drugs. Can we trust them?
On the other hand, millions of testimonials are pouring into internet forums and herb and nutraceutical companies with claims of great benefits and even cures from natural remedies that do no harm. These testimonials and claims are supposed to be protected as a free speech right. Instead, the government is charging people with outrageous fines and years of imprisonment for exercising this right! Is this not a form of fascism? The FDA has openly stated that anti-psychotic stimulant drugs, such as Ritalin and Concerta, can cause suicidal as well as violent, aggressive and psychotic behavior, and that these same drugs can cause heart attacks, stroke and sudden death! Why do government officials knowingly continue to kill and disable millions of people with "government-approved" pharmaceuticals? Does this have anything to do with the population reduction agenda advocated by the elitists?
The Zyprexa fraud is only one of a long list of shady deals by Eli Lilly. The Bush family is heavily invested in Big Pharma. George H. W. Bush became the CEO of Eli Lilly after leaving the CIA. Bush actively lobbied illegally both within and without the Administration as Vice President in 1981 to permit drug companies to dump more unwanted, obsolete, or domestically-banned substances on unsuspecting Third World countries. While Vice President, Bush continued to illegally act on behalf of pharmaceutical companies by personally going to the IRS for special tax breaks for certain drug companies (e.g. Lilly) manufacturing in Puerto Rico. In 1982, Vice President Bush was personally ordered to stop lobbying the IRS on behalf of the drug companies by the U.S. Supreme Court itself.
George W. Bush is the clear front runner when it comes to drug company contributions and patronage. According to the Center for Responsive Politics (CRP), manufacturers of drugs and health products had contributed $764,274 to the 2004 Bush campaign through their political action committees and employees by April 26th of the election year 2004. In 2002, after President George W. Bush signed the Homeland Security Act, New York Times columnist Bob Herbert discovered what had been slipped into the Act at the last minute: "Buried in this massive bill, snuck into it in the dark of night by persons unknown was a provision that--incredibly--will protect Eli Lilly and a few other big pharmaceutical outfits from lawsuits by parents who believe their children were harmed by thimerosal."
Psychiatric Drugs Cause Mental Illness
The effects of heavy psychiatric drugs on the brain are known. Dr. Valenstein, Ph.D. says, "it is well established that the drugs used to treat a mental disorder, for example, may induce long-lasting biochemical and even structural changes, which in the past were claimed to be the cause of the disorder, but may actually be an effect of the treatment."18 He states: "It is now difficult to find mental patients who have not had a history of drug treatment, and as a result many of the brain abnormalities found in these patients are probably iatrogenic, that is, produced by the treatment rather than being the cause of the disorder."
"Patients have been diagnosed with 'chemical imbalances,' despite the fact that no test exists to support such a claim, and that there is no real conception of what a correct chemical balance would look like." -- David Kaiser, psychiatrist
The "chemical imbalance" fraud is exposed on the Fight For Kids website at http://www.fightforkids.org/.
